Clayton Eugene Garrett
June 5, 1929 - February 19, 2013
Clayton E. Garrett, born June 5, 1929, passed away on February 19, 2013.
Clayton was born in Herrington, KS, and raised in Lebanon, OR. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1948 and enlisted in the U.S.A.F. He excelled in track throughout high school and the USAF and some of his records stood for over 20 years.
In July 1951, Clayton and Patricia Morris were married in Lebanon. They then lived in Anchorage, AK, where Clayton was stationed at Elmendorf A.F. base. Upon discharge they returned to Lebanon where Clayton worked at the U.S. Plywood Mill, followed by 25 years as a local truck driver.
In Lebanon, Clayton and Patsy raised their three children - Mark, Rebecca, and Timothy. Together they had six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Clayton and Patsy lived in Sisters, in Tollgate, for 13 years before moving to Mesa, Arizona in 1997.
Clayton never met a stranger, and his faith in the Lord greatly influenced his life decisions and relationships. Clayton also loved to sing, often leading choir at church or as part of a trio at nursing homes.
He died of bone cancer, and donated his body to Research for Life.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; children Mark, Becky and Tim; his grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
