Jacob Gillan, 24, of Sisters, was injured Friday night when he was struck while crossing Highway 20.
According to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office reports, Gillan was crossing Highway 20 north to south in a crosswalk at the intersection with Hood Avenue a little before 10 p.m. when he was hit by an eastbound white Chevrolet Aveo driven by Hobart Lowe, 75, of Stanfield, Oregon.
Gillan sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital via ground ambulance. Lowe and his passenger were both uninjured.
According to the sheriff's office, witnesses reported that Lowe was traveling at a reasonable speed. It was dark at the time of the accident. No citations have been issued at this time and this investigation is ongoing.
