5/31/2018 5:52:00 PM Police K9 nabs fugitive in Sisters
A Redmond Police Officer and a dog named Maverick nabbed a fugitive in Sisters on Thursday, May 31.
According to a sheriff's office reports, deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance at FivePine Lodge & Conference Center at 1:30 p.m.
A deputy contacted Baily J. Redwing to investigate the disturbance. During the initial investigation, the deputy determined that Redwing had outstanding arrest warrants in Kootenai County, Idaho. The deputy began to arrest Redwing for the outstanding warrants when Redwing broke away from the deputy and fled south towards the Sisters waste water treatment plant.
The deputy gave chase through the conference center until he lost sight of Redwing.
Additional Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Deputies, Black Butte Ranch Police Officers and Oregon State Police Troopers converged on the FivePine campus and contained the area before Redmond Police Officer Josh Powers and his K9 partner Maverick arrived. After about 10 minutes K9 Maverick located Redwing hiding in the tall grass adjacent to the waster water holding ponds. Redwing was arrested without further incident.
Redwing was transported and lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail.
