Sisters Arts Association Fourth Friday Art Stroll
Celebrate the arrival of summer by strolling through the galleries of Sisters during the Fourth Friday Art Stroll, June 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. Grab your friends and enjoy the warmer weather and art while sampling light refreshments.

Hood Avenue Art is featuring Central Oregon pastels and oils by Kathleen Keliher and original Oregon sunstone jewelry by Elyse and Steven Douglas.

Dance academy doubles the fun with two spring shows
Sisters Dance Academy students took fans on a musical journey down through the ages and back for the spring recital with 150 dancers aged 3 to 18, performing ballet, tap, hip-hop and contemporary dance on Saturday afternoon and evening in the Sisters High School Auditorium.

Noted artist's work hangs at Ranch Lodge
The internationally exhibited Bend artist Marjorie Wood Hamlin will exhibit her work at the Lodge at Black Butte Ranch through June 29. Her work is in homes throughout Central Oregon from Black Butte Ranch to Sunriver, as well as Portland and Lake Oswego.

It's Rodeo time in Sisters
A small army of volunteers has the arena painted, the signs up, the grounds spruced up and Sisters is all set to put on The Biggest Little Show in the World.

As it does each year, the 77th annual Sisters Rodeo will bring the best competitors in the sport to Sisters to challenge some of the best rodeo stock in the business.

Stroll, parade kicked off arts weekend
This past Friday Sisters turned out for the annual My Own Two Hands parade and art stroll. The event, started 17 years ago and then called "Painted Strings," has developed into a two-day event/fundraiser for the Americana Project and arts programs in the schools and other outreach programs of Sisters Folk Festival

The parade and art stroll kick off the weekend through town. Art- and music-lovers strolled through town to the various art galleries and viewed some of the art pieces that were donated by various artists for Saturday's fundraising auction.

The "Inner and Outer Landscapes" exhibit will feature the prints of artists Gin Laughery and Julie Winter. Both artists are members of Atelier 6000, a center for printmaking and book arts. A6 cultivates art and appreciation, enhances learning through art, and expands creative expression.

With their cameras, skilled photographers are able to capture moments in time that will never again be seen exactly the same way. In the May Friends of the Sisters Library art exhibit, members of the Sisters Photography Club are showcasing their own unique moments in time with familiar and foreign landscapes, rodeo action shots, wildlife, animals, and birds, and people caught being themselves.
