To the Editor:

The news of the monies going to the Sonrise Christian School from our public funds. The ducking of the school administrators even down to the district superintendent of the time it started. How do you miss a $130,000.00 budget line Item? The one regret expressed, now that the school will have to lower itself to a yellow school bus from the nice activities bus that is owned now.

This is the shameful part in my opinion. Through all this mess, no one has stood up and claimed responsibility. There is no integrity in how this all is unfolding. And the witch hunt for a scapegoat is upon us as people hand responsibility off to the next sound bite.

And you people who are involved teach children? It is especially more grating that you are supposedly teaching by the words of Christ. What are you teaching our children? Get away with it as long as you don’t get caught. When something is brought to light, deny it until you’re proven guilty? And you call yourselves teachers of faith. Teachers of faith teach with the truth, good or bad, but the truth.

You blast what doesn’t agree with “your” teachings. You move to strike down the views and opinions even expressions of love between others that do not agree with you. And still you create the greatest sin of all. False ego based living. To never own your own trespasses, to always point the finger somewhere else.

When our “supposed” spiritual teachers stop living for appearances and start living the truth, good and bad. Then and only then can you truly say you have taught the children.

My blessings and forgiveness to you all. Because we all fall down, many choose to ignore that as we witness each other and judge without forgiveness. Mostly, even in our churches and families, we just judge with fear and call it truth. I guess these are the things we choose to do when we don’t really believe with all our heart in what we say.

Sincerely,

Michael Valoppi

Sisters Area Chamber of commerce members:

Thank you all again for the honor bestowed upon me as the Sisters Citizen of the Year. I am grateful to be a part of the community of Sisters and am energized by the creative and giving spirit that makes our town unique.

It is a priviledge to live and work in a place that respects and values small individual contributions.

Those individual efforts work to create collective greatness. Sisters is a shining example of successful collaborative efforts by business, city government, schools, service organizations, foundations and private citizens to create a vibrant and caring community.

Thank you,

Kathy Deggendorfer

To the Editor:

While riding in the Sisters Rodeo Association color guard this past June, I saw many people taking pictures of us.

I’m trying to find someone who may have gotten a good picture of each of us. If you happen to have any, I sure would appreciate a call: 541-549-1837.

Thanks!

Janice Diener
