The girls soccer team bounced back from two narrow losses last week and shut out Crook County 8-0 on Tuesday, September 20.

The Lady Outlaws scored five of their goals in the first half and three in the second. Katie Taylor led Sisters with four goals, Rose Slavkovsky put in three and Kelly Morton added one. Morton also had three assists for Sisters.

Slavkovsky started Sisters’ scoring frenzy just five minutes into the game. Annie Hancock passed a through ball to Morton who took it up the wing and crossed it toward the goal. Slavkovsky was there to direct the ball into the net and the Outlaws took an early 1-0 lead.

At the 20-minute mark Morton crossed the ball toward the goal. Crook County’s keeper lost possession of the ball and Taylor followed up to score.

Just five minutes later Taylor scored again when she dribbled past the keeper for the goal. Morton was credited with the assist on a beautiful through ball to Taylor.

Sisters continued to pour it on offensively and at the 35-minute mark scored again on a hard shot by Morton straight into the upper corner of the net.

Just two minutes before the whistle blew sounding the half, the Outlaws scored their fifth goal. Hattie Tehan took the ball up the wing and crossed it on the ground. Slavkovsky was positioned in front of the goal and tapped it in with the outside of her foot.

Sisters went into the half with a 5-0 advantage.

The Outlaws approached the second half with the same intensity as they had in the first. Eighteen minutes into the half Taylor headed the ball into the net to push the Outlaws to a 6-0 lead.

Twelve minutes later Taylor took a shot just inside the 18 yard mark and scored thanks to a soft, short pass from Slavkovsky.

The Lady Outlaws’ final goal came with five minutes remaining in the game. Slavkovsky had possession, broke away from the pack and shot the ball just over the keeper’s head to score. The game ended with an 8-0 victory for Sisters.

Sisters recorded approximately 40 shots on goal compared to one for Crook County.

Midfielder Liz Dale said, “Our offense was very on today and our defense held strong for the shutout.” She added, “We still are missing having Audrey (Tehan) on the field with us.”

Tehan is still out with an ankle injury.

The Lady Outlaws traveled to Madras just two days later and shut out the White Buffaloes 5-0.

Kelly Morton got the Outlaws on the scoreboard just 15 seconds into the game. The shot came right after the kickoff with an assist from Rose Slavkovsky. Morton dribbled up the wing and drove the ball into the net just above the ground near the right post.

Seven minutes later Slavkovsky dished a nice assist to Katie Taylor, who faked a move and then booted the ball hard and low into the goal.

Sisters scored three more times before the 15 minute mark of the first half, with another goal from Taylor and two from midfielder Liz Dale. Taylor’s shot was a hard-driven ball into the right side of the netting. Dale’s first goal was a hard shot right at hip level that went through a defender and the keeper. Dale capped the scoring with a chip shot just over the fingertips of the goalie.

The Outlaw defense held strong the remainder of the game to secure the 5-0 victory.

Coach Lee Bellahdid said, “Our mobility, possession and speed is getting better and that helped us to spread their (Madras’) defense.”

Bellahdid also commended the play of Danielle Elder and the improvement she’s made over the past week.

The Lady Outlaws will host Cascade on Thursday, September 29. The game is set for 4 p.m.
