The Sisters Folk Festival hosted a launch party for the new Sisters Folk Arts Circle on Thursday, March 8, at Sisters Art Works.

The Sisters Folk Arts Circle offers music and art enthusiasts an opportunity to buy their folk festival concert and event tickets for the year while supporting the Americana Project in Sisters. Members receive two tickets to My Own Two Hands, held this year April 13-14, as well as six all-event badges to the folk festival, four tickets to the Sisters Folk Festival Sponsors Dinner and four tickets for each of the winter and off-season concerts.

The value of the package is over $1,200 but can be purchased for $1,000.

"The beauty of this program," said Sisters Folk Arts Circle Coordinator Ginger Durdan-Shaw "is that we have a matching grant that doubles your contribution. It's like handing us a check for $2,000."

The money the Sisters Folk Festival receives goes directly to supporting the festival programs and continuing the programs Sisters children enjoy through the Americana Project.

"With no funding for the arts in schools, programs such as the Americana Project are essential for providing a well-rounded education for our children. I just can't imagine a world without music," said Durdan-Shaw.

For more information about the Sisters Folk Arts Circle or to purchase tickets for My Own Two Hands call Katy Yoder, Events Director at 549-4979 or visit http://www.sistersfolkfestival.com.
