The girls' volleyball team pushed the Pleasant Hill Billies to five games to win the match and notch their first league win for the season at home on Tuesday, September 19.

The Outlaws were determined and dug deep for the victory. Sisters lost the first game 25-21 and came back to win by two in the second game 25-23. Sisters' defense took control in the third game, and Sisters won by a wider margin at 25-19. The Billies answered back with a win in the fourth game 25-21 to tie the match at two games apiece. Sisters played a strong defensive fifth game to secure the win (15-13).

Sisters' defense held Pleasant Hill's top hitter Braidy Bates to zero kills until the fourth game of the match.

Rachel Tenneson led the offensive attack for the Outlaws with 11 kills and four blocks. Felicia Pledger and Kali Ulmer each contributed 10 kills.

Libero Becky Bremer said, "We really took care of the ball in that last game. We were so scrappy and didn't want to let anything hit the floor. It was mandatory. We had to make the pass, and we buckled down and got the job done.

"We went all-out," Bremer said. "We carried our intensity and aggressiveness throughout the entire match and as a team had a great game. At the end of that third game when we went up 2-1, I just looked at my teammates and started crying hysterically. We all know how much potential we have, and to come together like we did was such a great feeling. I can't even explain it."

"We really needed to get the league win tonight," said Coach Chris Crosby. "We were down 19-12 in game four and fought back and got some momentum on our side going into the fifth game. We improved today and ran a quicker offense."

Coach Chris Crosby said Bremer played the best match of her career.

The Outlaws travel to Cottage Grove on Thursday, September 28.
