In the team’s second outing of the young season, many of Sisters High School’s numerous track athletes set season and personal bests at the Sisters Rotary Invitational held Saturday at Reed Stadium.

On the boys’ side, the Outlaws placed fourth among eleven teams with 87.5 points. West Linn nipped Redmond by a point to win with 126 points.

Although Sisters had no individual winners among the boys, a number of young men placed near the top, including Eli Callan, who took second in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.2. Callan placed third in the 110-meter high hurdles (17.0) as well.

Kelly Crowther was third in the 300 hurdles (44.5) and also placed fourth in the 400 meters at 54.2.

Andrew Legg had a breakout performance in the 800 meters, lowering his best time by over 6 seconds to finish fourth in 2:10.2. Stefan Redfield finished fifth (2:11.7) after finishing a strong third in the 1,500 in 4:32. Freshman Benton Urquhart ran a personal best in the 3,000-meter race to finish third in 10:09.1, while teammates Lucas Glick (10:32.6) and Kyle Rickards (10:41.8) were sixth and seventh respectively.

Dom Deleone cleared 11 feet in the pole vault to take third behind former Sisters athlete Anthony Parker who is now competing for Culver.

Nick Purvis (39 feet 4 inches) and Eli Callan (38 feet 7 inches) went two-three in the triple jump and Jeff Sampson put points on the board in the discus (117 feet 11 inches) and the shot (41 feet 3 inches) where he placed fifth and seventh.

Jenny Boswell showed that she is ready to defend her state titles in both hurdles races, winning both the 100 hurdles (15.7) and the 300 intermediates (46.5) handily. Her 300 time is the best 3A mark in the state this year.

The girls’ team scored a lot of points in the jumping events, led by sophomore Kelsey Neilson. Neilson won the high jump (4 feet 10 inches), took second in the triple jump (30 feet 9 inches) and fifth in the long jump (14 feet 6 inches).

Pole vaulter Cammy Jacobson won the pole vault with an 8 foot 6 inch effort, and teammates Anna Pepperling (8 feet) and Kirsti Burck (7 feet 6 inches) came in third and fifth respectively.

Pepperling and Cali Ulmer both cleared 4 feet 8 inches for the first time to tie for fifth in the high jump.

Ryanne Conrads had a personal best in the 800 meters (2:38.8) to finish eighth and came back to place fifth in the 3,000 meters in 13:04.

Throwing coach Jeff Reynolds reported that his athletes recorded ten personal bests in total at the meet.

The Outlaws will compete at the Springfield Twilight meet Friday evening.
