Dr. M. Lindsay Simmons III, 86, of Sisters, died in the comfort of his home on January 30. He was the son of Eva Corrinn Van Winkle and Mosby Lindsay Simmons Jr., as well as stepfather, Henry Woodard, who helped raise him from age 9. Dr. M. Lindsay Simmons III (Lindsay) was born June 6, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jim McWilliams
Jim McWilliams of Bend passed away from COVID complications with underlying conditions on December 13 at the age of 80. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sue; two sons, Tim McWilliams and wife Erica Chambers, Kevin McWilliams and wife Alyson Evans; three siblings, Pat Jussila, John McWilliams, Sally McWilliams and partner Beth Hutchison. He also leaves behind cousins, Ed Lindsay and wife Peggy, Susan Walker and husband Bob; nephew, Tony McWilliams and wife Stephanie; and niece, Leslie Marcy and husband Robert.

Winnie St. John
Our friend Winifred Amanda St. John passed peacefully in her sleep in her home in Sisters, on the morning of December 5. Her husband of 40 years, Jeff Omodt, and her two beloved greyhounds were at her side. It was a quiet conclusion to a five-year struggle with a degenerative brain disease. In addition to Jeff, Winnie is survived by two sisters, Valerie Durbin of Davis, California, and Pamela Zurer, of Silver Spring, Maryland.

Patricia Glyde (Schreiber) Stephenson was born June 13, 1930, in Corvallis, to Rudolph and Glyde Schreiber. Pat grew up on a dairy farm outside of Corvallis. She and her sister, Madge, delivered milk from the dairy every day in the family’s milk truck. She told lots of stories of the hard work and tough times on the dairy, but it was also where she developed her love of ice cream and horses. Pat graduated from Corvallis High School in 1948.

With overwhelming grief and sadness we share that our darling, darling sparkling light of a daughter Lala, was killed in a traffic incident on October 1. She was in the car with two other girls, one of whom was her best friend from California, Amelie Shae Locke, who also died at the scene. All the girls were wearing seat belts but the driver lost control of the car and all three girls died at the scene.
