Local endurance runner Sean Meissner tripled that feat, running marathons on three successive days to win the Lake Tahoe Triple event for the third year in a row on October 9-11. Meissner ran 3:08, 3:08, and 3:12 respectively on the course that circumnavigates Lake Tahoe -- over 78 miles at elevations ranging up to 7,000 feet. Anyone who has ever moved from one address to another can understand why Sisters School District facilities manager Bob Martin had concerns about getting everything transported from the former middle and high schools to the new locations this summer. He finished his first 100-mile race at last week's Bighorn Trail Wild and Scenic Run in Wyoming. Yes, that's 100 miles -- as in the distance from Sisters to downtown Eugene. Commencement marked the final chapter of high school life for 119 graduates Friday, June 6, at the Sisters High School gymnasium. The ceremony included many indicators of change, from the departure of pPrincipal Boyd Keyser to the fact that it would be the last graduation held in the current high school gym.
