Culminating one of the best years in the history of Outlaws track and field, Sisters athletes left their marks at Hayward Field at the OSAA 4A Championships held May 17-19. After going through a season that saw a league championship by the boys and over 50 new entries to the school's all-time top 10 list, the state meet was the final chance to add to the record books for the 2007 season. Two seniors took that challenge quite seriously and lowered their own school records in... Full story

Despite missing about half the team to spring break, the Outlaws track squads held their own at a five-way meet hosted by Crook County on Tuesday, March 20. Team scores were not kept for the meet. Benton Urquhart and Eli Callan came up with the only individual first place finishes for the Outlaws' boys, but a slew of athletes, many of them freshman and sophomores, placed in the top three. Urquhart overcame a very cold wind in winning the 1,500 meters (time not available) and the 3,000 (10:21.2). Callan was the class of the... Full story
The return of many key athletes coupled with a turnout of a lot of new faces has head track coach Bob Johnson smiling as he and his staff prepare for the first outing of the year at Marist Thursday. "The roster shows somewhere over 85 boys and girls out here, and the great thing is the number of freshman who have come out," said Johnson. If Johnson's name sounds familiar it is because he coached the Outlaws from 1995 through 2003 before a two-year stint at Redmond High School... Full story

Becoming a strong team of runners requires some vigorous physical training — but that’s just the beginning. The Outlaws cross country teams have learned that recreating together can be the glue that holds a squad together and makes it strong. For this reason, the teams have made a tradition of having a mid-summer running camp on the McKenzie River that features miles of trail running as well as plenty of time rafting down the scenic waterway and hanging around the cam...
