    The seventh annual Hoodoo Challenge: Run to the Top may have provided runners with the biggest challenge in the event's history on Saturday, July 22. The event, sponsored by the Sisters Kiwanis, included a half-marathon (13.1 miles) and a five-kilometer run (3.1 miles).     A lifetime of dancing and a Presidential Scholarship offer from the University of Oregon led Sidney Linn to decide to try out for the Ducks cheer team, and on May 9 she signed a letter of intent formalizing her as a member of the 2023-24 squad along with three other incoming freshmen who made the team.     Gracie Vohs got to experience the rare air of the top of the podium after winning the 400 meters at the OSAA 3A Track and Field Championships held May 25 and 26 at Hayward Field in Eugene. Her joy doubled when she returned to the podium with her teammates after the quartet won the 4x400-meter relay in the meet's final event.     Just like the spring weather, track-and-field athletes showed notable improvements as the Outlaws’ team entered the month of May with two local meets last week.     Sisters Middle School (SMS) was the place to be on Wednesday, April 12 for the annual STEAM Expo, which showcased some of the science, technology, engineering, art, and math learning that is happening at the school.     The 21st edition of the Peterson Ridge Rumble trail run turned out to be one for the record books, not only weather-wise, but in distance.     The Sisters Outlaws’ first track-and-field meet of the season turned into a marathon event that lasted well past 9 p.m. It gave the team a chance to “knock off the rust” and get into the competitive groove.
