    The Outlaws swim team wrapped up the 2024 season with strong performances at the OSAA State Championships held at Tualatin Valley Swim Center February 16 and 17. Preliminaries took place Friday with the top six finishers qualifying for the finals. Ella Bartlett picked up a pair of medals over the weekend.     The long road to the OSAA State Wrestling Championships concluded with two Outlaws placing in the top six, and one narrowly missing a medal. Junior Carter Van Meter, who brought a 38-16 record to the tournament picked up three more wins for the season on his way to fifth place in the 3A 126-pound class.     A pair of Outlaws finished the wrestling season at the Special District 1 4A/3A/2A/1A girls’ wrestling tournament held at Cottage Grove High School February 16-17.     The Outlaws wrestling squad took part in two competitions last week including its final big tournament in La Pine, prior to the district championships set for this coming week in Burns. Sisters’ boys team finished in eighth place overall with 92 points among 13 scoring teams.     A total of six boys and four girls took part in the Tod Surmon Mid-Valley Classic hosted by West Albany High School at the Linn County Fair and Expo site over last weekend. Sisters placed a very respectable sixth among the 18 schools with 72 points. Mountainside overwhelmed the competition with 200 points.     Going head-to-head with the Santiam Wolverines on January 17 gave the Outlaws' wrestling team a chance to flex their muscles, and show their moves on their home turf.     With the local scholarship season about to open for the class of 2024, the Sisters Graduate Resource Organization (GRO), which manages the program, has announced a new executive director, Regan Roberts, who started in mid-August.     The Oregon Classic, held January 12-13, attracted more than 50 teams from all Oregon classifications as one of the largest gatherings of wrestlers annually in the state. The tournament is unique in that teams pair up with other squads for a series of head to head duals, and final team results are based on which team ultimately comes out on top in the classification. Five girls competed in the tournament for Sisters, including top finisher Brooklynn Cooper, who picked up a third place medal in the 122-128 pound division.
