    Crater is a relatively faint, small springtime constellation that is visible from our latitude here in Central Oregon. Crater is the 53rd largest constellation, taking up 282 square degrees of sky. An arrangement of eight stars defines a pattern that looks like a tilted cup. The brightest of these is Delta Crateris, an orange giant star that shines at a magnitude of 3.6.
