    The Lady Outlaws volleyball team traveled to Klamath Falls on Saturday, September 2, and walked away as the tournament champs of the Basin Invitational. Sisters cruised through the morning pool play unscathed while showcasing their team depth. In the afternoon they were pitted against a scrappy Bonanza team in the opening of bracket play.   • Outlaws snatch win in final minute against Burns

    Sisters edged out Burns 19-13 last Friday night, with a touchdown that came in the final minute of play. The Outlaws had a rough start, and at the end of the first quarter trailed 0-7. They turned it around in the second quarter, buckled down and scored twice, with both touchdowns by Tony Gonzalez, the first on a three-yard run and the second on a one-yard run.   • Outlaws soccer goes international

    For the first time in Sisters High School (SHS) history, a team traveled abroad to compete in an international tournament. The girls soccer team, dubbed the Oregon Outlaws, traveled to Hamburg, Germany to compete in the Laola Cup, held July 24-27. The annual event was put on by Ballfruende, who organize 30 different sporting tournaments throughout Europe every year.     The Sisters High School (SHS) boys soccer squad will be led by six returning seniors, including Vincent Christian, Austin Dean, Carson Bell, Baylor Dyer, Evan Martin, and Logan Ryba. This core group has lofty goals for the season; they not only look to repeat as league champs but want to go deeper, into the state tournament.   • Outlaws summer basketball camp draws crowd

    The Outlaws Summer Hoops Camp brought 78 campers to the annual event - the largest turnout in the last several years. Incoming fourth through eighth graders attended the three-day camp which was held Tuesday through Thursday, June 20-22 at Sisters High School. Both the gyms were bursting with enthusiastic kids ready and excited to improve their basketball skills.     The Lady Outlaws softball team has been working hard and it showed on the field this year. Sisters finished their season 7-17, which was a tie for the most wins they've had in a season in the past 10 years. Sisters battled through several obstacles this season. Kathryn Scholl, their sophomore pitcher, was lost halfway through the season due to a back injury, and in addition three other key players suffered concussions.     The girls tennis squad sent three junior players — Juhree Kizziar, Brooke Harper, and Katie Ryan — to the state tennis tournament held in Corvallis, Friday and Saturday, May 19- 20. Kizziar (No. 1 singles) who was the District 4 Champion, defeated sophomore Addison Roberts of Sutherlan 6-2, 6-2.     With summer comes the opportunity for Sisters youth to attend a variety of sports camps. If you’re interested in any of the following camps you can register through SPRD, unless otherwise noted. The Sisters High School Outlaws basketball programs will offer a youth camp Tuesday through Thursday, June 20-22, for boys and girls who will be in the fourth through eighth grade for the 2023-2024 school year.     The boys lacrosse squad fell 10-5 to Bend's JV team on Wednesday, April 26, and two days later lost 23-7 on the road at Corvallis. Sisters played against Bend's JV team on Wednesday to make the contest a better match-up. The Lava Bears' squad is loaded with players who have not only played from a very young age, but play very physical, especially with their stick checking.     Phenomenal pitching helped the Outlaws baseball team close out league play with a 14-4 record and their first title since 2017. Brody Duey threw his second no-hitter on the season, allowing one unearned run in an 11-1 five-inning game against Harrisburg.   • Gordon qualifies for state golf tourney

    Trent Gordon finished fifth at the boys 3A/2A/1A Special District 2 Golf Tournament held on Monday and Tuesday, May 8-9, at the Chehalem Glenn Golf Course in Newberg. Gordon's score as an individual qualified him for the state tournament, which will be Monday and Tuesday, May 15-16 at Tokatee. Gordon shot an 84 on day one and an 86 on day two for a total of 170.     The girls lacrosse squad celebrated their two seniors, Tatum Cramer and Faith Gulick, in their last home game of the season on Monday, May 8. Both Cramer and Gulick were captains on the team, and brought ample amounts of fun and laughter to both practice and games, even when times were hard.     The Lady Outlaws brought seven players to the 4A/3A/2A/1A Special District 4 Tennis Tournament in Pendleton on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13, and emerged as the champs. The Outlaws took a first, third, and fourth place in singles, and placed a doubles team in the quarterfinals for a total of 17 points, double the closest rival team.     The boys lacrosse squad poured their hearts out and left it all on the field in their 10-6 loss at Ridgeview on Wednesday, May 10. The Outlaws again played with just 11 players compared to the Ravens 22. Two days later they recorded a 14-6 win at Burns.     The Outlaws girls tennis team have qualified three singles players and two doubles teams to advance to the District Championships in Pendleton, on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13.     The boys lacrosse squad matched up last week against Burns, a team similar in size compared to the 5A and 6A teams both squads havebeen playing against. The Hilanders' roster was small like the Outlaws, with 10 available players compared to Sisters' 11, so coaches agreed that an eight vs. eight game would be more appropriate than the usual 10 vs. 10.     Junior Devin Coverdale and freshman Trent Gordon tied for a fourth-place finish as individuals at the Quail Run Invitational held in La Pine on Monday, May 1. The boys are the only two players on the golf team, and both have improved their scores greatly over the course of the season. Coverdale and Gordon both finished their round with a score of 84. Ironically they scored the exact opposite scores on the front and back nine; Coverdale a 45 on the front and a 39 on the back, and Gordon a 39 on the front and a 45 on the back.... Full story

    The boys tennis squad lost their match against The Dalles on Monday, May 2. Coach David Rowell switched up the lineup for the Outlaw players in their match against the Riverhawks.     The girls lacrosse squad matched up against the Summit Storm twice this past week and suffered losses in both matchups. Sisters fell 4-17 at Summit on Monday, April 24, and four days later lost 4-17 at home. On Monday, the Lady Outlaws played without any subs, while Summit boasted a roster of 22 varsity and 26 JV players they could draw from.     The boys tennis squad matched up against Stayton at home on Tuesday, April 25, and two days later they played at home against the Madras White Buffs. Jude Parzybok was the lone Outlaw to win both his matches this past week. On Tuesday against Stayton, Dominic Pulver and Jude Parzybok both tallied wins. Pulver defeated Spencer Dirkz 6-3, 7-5.     The girls lacrosse squad opened their season with a vengeance — with four straight wins. They remain undefeated. They opened with a doubleheader at West Albany High School’s turf field, and matched up against Corvallis and West Albany.
