    The girls basketball squad lost both their games this past week; a 50-24 loss at Pleasant Hill (PH) on Tuesday, February 7, and three days later a 61-35 loss at Creswell. On Tuesday the Outlaws faced the Lady Billies, the No. 1 team in the Mountain Valley Conference, and the No. 1-ranked team in the state, who entered the game with a 19-1 record.     The Sisters Outlaws boys and girls ski teams closed out the final Emerald League Alpine ski race of the season with first-place finishes at Willamette Pass on Saturday, February 11. The race was a slalom event held under sunny skies. In round one, the snow was cold and fast but did become warmer and softer in the afternoon. On the boys side, Bela Chladek was the combined first-place winner of the day, with a time of 1:44.78.     The Outlaws lost both their games on the road this past week; a 63-47 loss at Pleasant Hill on Tuesday, February 7, and three days later a 60-41 loss at Creswell. On Tuesday, the No. 2 Outlaws (7-2) faced the No. 3 Billies (6-3). It was a big game for the Outlaws, as a win would put the Billies two games behind them.     The Outlaws hoopsters recorded a 43-34 victory at home against Harrisburg on Thursday, February 2, which pushed their record to 7-2, and gave them sole possession of second place. Sisters was looking to avenge their 38-50 loss to Harrisburg earlier in the season, and their plan was to apply aggressive man-to-man pressure on the Eagles.     The Sisters Outlaws Alpine Ski Team raced in a slalom race on Wednesday, February 1, at Hoodoo Ski Area, and once again both the boys and girls teams came off the slopes with a first-place finish. On the boys side, Sisters skier Bela Chladek set the bar high and took first place overall by 4.5 seconds with a combined time of 1:23.85.     The Lady Outlaws edged out Harrisburg 34-33 at home on Thursday, February 2, which gave them back-to-back wins for the first time this year. Sisters felt that the Eagles were a team they could compete with, but they were again short Josie Patton (concussion) and Ellie Mayes (sprained ankle), who were still unable to play, and they knew the game would be a challenge.     The Lady Outlaws had another rough week on the hardwood: a 43-21 loss at home to Pleasant Hill on Wednesday, January 18, and a 45-29 loss to Creswell at home on Friday.     The boys basketball squad fell 55-41 at home against Pleasant Hill on Wednesday, January 18, and at home two days later knocked off Creswell, the No. 1 ranked team in league (4-0) and the No. 6 ranked team in 3A, in an exciting 51-50 overtime win.     The boys and girls basketball squads both lost their games on the road at Harrisburg on Friday, January 13; the boys in a 50-38 loss and the girls a 60-40 loss. In the boys matchup, it was a close first quarter that ended in a 10-10 tie at the close of the period.     The Outlaws boys took second overall, and Bela Chladek notched first place in a ski race at Mount Hood Meadows last weekend. The Outlaw ski team traveled to Mount Hood Meadows on Saturday, January 7, to kick off the ski racing season at the annual Kelsey’s Race.     The Outlaws kicked off league play with a 51-46 win on the road over the Elmira Falcons on Tuesday, January 3. Three days later, they posted a 43-29 victory over the Siuslaw Vikings. In Tuesday’s match-up with the Falcons’, the Outlaws jumped out to a 5-0 lead.     Three Lady Outlaw volleyball players capped their season with high honors. Gracie Vohs not only was named Player of the Year for the Mountain Valley Conference, but recently was named the 2022 Class 3A All-State Player of the Year.
