    As Sisters residents, especially quilt lovers, gear up this week for the 25th Annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, a cadre of high school students is hard at work to make things run smoothly before, during, and after the event. The quilt show takes place Saturday, July 8, but to ardent quilters, the whole week before the show is almost more important than the show itself.   • Sisters to gather in Sisters this weekend

    The second annual Sisters in Sisters celebration is set for Friday, October 1, through Sunday, October 3. The event kicks off with a Friday night welcome dinner, fashion show, and keynote address by motivational speaker, Sheri Rose Shepherd. On Saturday there is an afternoon wine and cheese tasting, western barbecue, and entertainment by the Booher Family's Diamond B Chuckwagon Gang.   • New director at COCC helm

    Celeste Douville of Bend is the new director of the Sisters Center of Central Oregon Community College. Douville replaced Lucy Burton as director when Burton left to pursue other interests. "COCC offers two types of courses at this location," Douville said. "The Sisters Center is an open campus with core curriculum credit classes. These are subjects required for an AA (Associate Arts) degree." Students attend these classes at the Sisters Center located at 160 S.     The shiny young eyes at the Little Cloverdale Preschool will be focused on the smiling face of a new teacher when classes start Wednesday, September 8. Ann Kauzlarich will replace Chris Rerat who has retired to help her husband with their new business. Kauzlarich will travel from Bend on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to teach three- and four-year-olds at the cooperative preschool in the old two-room schoolhouse at the intersection of Highway 126 and George Cyrus Road.
