The flu is felling people in droves across the country. Oregon isn't hit nearly as hard as some places in the country, but folks in Sisters are still falling sick. Last August, Sue Coudare experienced a remarkable change in her life when she adopted a special-needs horse. She named him Last Chance. Peter Whitten Small, 62, passed away on January 2, 2013, at St. Charles Hospital. Peter was born at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA, on November 20, 1950, to Ward Small, Jr. and Marjory Jane Sellinger Small. He graduated from Carpenteria High School in 1968. Phillip Dee (Phil) Jacques Sr. was born August 25, 1951 in Redmond to Alice (Russell) Sorenson of Spokane, WA and Coy Gaston of Fountain City, IN. On the day of his birth Phil was adopted by Benjamin and Roberta (Kinnan) Jacques of Redmond.
