  • Winter finally arrives in Sisters Country

    Jim Cornelius, News Editor|Updated Feb 20, 2018

Old Man Winter took his time getting here, but he finally drew his blanket of snow across Sisters Country over the weekend. Depending on where you were in Sisters Country, you got perhaps five inches of the white stuff in the first real snowstorm of an unusually mild and snow-free winter. The storm was led into the region by a sharp edge of wind. Heavy gusts brought down trees across the area. Along Cloverdale Road, a falling tree took down power lines on Saturday, knocking ou... Full story

Incidents such as the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last week hit educators, parents and students hard, no matter where they are. "We know we're not immune to it." School... Full story

  • Letters to the Editor 02/21/2018

    Updated Feb 20, 2018

To the Editor: In the Letters section of the February 14 Nugget, Terry Weygandt, in referring to Craig Rullman's Bunkhouse Chronicle of February 7, seemed to make some pretty bold claims that seem questionable. Initially Terry claims, "there is absolutely no evidence that Democrats attempted to influence the election in favor of Hillary Clinton." I would suggest that millions of Bernie supporters would argue the real evidence says different. And, with ongoing investigations still in progress it may be a bit premature to use... Full story
