The Outlaws Math Team recently participated in the American Math Competitions (AMC). The AMC 10 is for high school freshmen and sophomores; the AMC 12 is for juniors and seniors. Carl A. Newport, longtime Black Butte Ranch resident, passed away quietly at Touchmark in Bend on March 5, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was four days short of his 90th birthday. Born on March 9, 1924, in Logansport, Indiana, Carl was the youngest of Lillie and Tom Newport's seven children.
