  • Pine Needlers host winter quilt show

    A light dusting of snow added a festive seasonal touch to the annual Pine Needlers winter quilt show held last Sunday, February 20, at the historic Camp Sherman Community Hall. A steady flow totaling hundreds of people strolled through the hanging quilts downstairs, admired and examined the materials and exhibits upstairs, talked with friends, or enjoyed the food service provided by the Pine Nuts club.   • Dancers entertain and teach in Sisters

    Visiting dancers from Brigham Young University got a standing ovation after their performance last Wednesday, February 16 at Sisters High School. Earlier that day, several dancers from the company worked with Sisters Middle School students in a dance workshop. They taught a rhythmic dance to the students, choreographed by Natosha Washington, and performed a dramatic dance called “Genesis,” choreographed by Marin Leggat.   • Habitat team plans tsunami relief

    Sisters Habitat for Humanity and Three Sisters Fellowship organized quickly to be the first Habitat team from the United States to build shelter for tsunami-earthquake victims. In March, the local team will travel to a village at the southernmost tip of India to begin rebuilding. “Excitement about this whole thing is growing,” said Habitat team leader Woodie Woodsum.   • Sisters Act featureslocal talent

    Sisters’ musicians, actors and comedians will strut their stuff on the high school stage on Saturday, February 26 in the Sisters Act. The show starts at 7 p.m. in the Sisters High School auditorium. The theme of this year’s production is “Sisters Act at the Beach.” The audience will be entertained by the Fiddlesticks, Beach Boy Builders and “Cruise the Caribbean” with Amity and Devon Calvin along with Drew and Emily Corrigan.
