  • Kent Boles takes over reins as Young Life Director

    Kent Boles was recently selected as the new Young Life Area Director and stepping into the role should be easy. Boles has worked with middle school and high school students for the past 36 years in Eugene, Pleasant Hill, and he even ran a skateboard ministry in Portland for three years. For the last 13 years Boles has been involved in youth ministry in Sisters. Boles has always loved working with students and is excited about the new opportunity.   • Outlaws split first two lacrosse games of season

    The Outlaws girls lacrosse squad split their first two games of the season - a 21-7 loss at home to Bend United on Tuesday, March 14, and two days later a complete turnaround with a 17-2 victory at home over Redmond. In Tuesday's action, Sydney Head was the Outlaws' MVP of the game. Head started at center and gained four draw controls, and sent four over to Mia Cook as well.   • Girls tennis swings into season with a win

    The girls tennis team broke in their new home courts with a 5-3 win over Mt. View on Monday, March 13. Mt. View has more than 40 girls on their varsity and junior varsity squads combined, and so the Outlaws were able to get in three JV matches as well. Sisters No. 1 doubles team of Hawley Harrer and Rylee Weber defeated Miah Cronen and Hollie Kloos in a very close match with scores of 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).   • Outlaws open season with a pair of wins

    Behind the hitting and pitching of senior Amanda Smith, Sisters High School's varsity softball team opened the season last week with a pair of wins, edging La Pine and routing Klamath Falls Union. It's been five years since the Outlaws opened at 2-0, but with a last-inning 5-4 win over La Pine and a 19-4 rout against Klamath Falls, optimism is high for coach Dave Smith's team.   • Lacrosse team posts first win of season in double overtime

    The boys lacrosse team's first game of the season against North Eugene on Wednesday, March 15, was wild and crazy and went to double overtime before the Outlaws finally notched the 9-8 win. The teams played in heavy rain off-and-on throughout the contest. The Outlaws played with determination and midway through the second half had built an 8-3 lead.   • Track teams shake off rust in non-league meet

    The winter snows receded just in time for the Sisters Outlaws track and field teams to undertake the first meet of the season, a dual against the Lava Bears of Bend High on Wednesday, March 16.
