The Outlaws lacrosse team took on Bend High School at Hal Puddy Field on Tuesday, April 19, and were crushed in a final score of 17-1. On Friday, Sisters fell 11-6 at West Albany. More than 153,000 ballots for the May 2022 Primary Election were to be mailed to registered voters in Deschutes County on Wednesday. If voters do not receive their ballot by Wednesday, May 4, they are encouraged to call the Deschutes County Elections at 541-388-6547. Jeannette Jentzsch Harding, loving mother and grandmother, amazing sister and good friend, passed away on February 9, 2022, at the age of 79. She was born April 22, 1942 in Farmington, Utah, to a large family. She described herself as being No. 6 of her mother’s 13 children and No. 18 of her dad’s 42 children. A large parcel of exclusive farm use (EFU) land may be rezoned to allow for rural residential development, which would allow one dwelling per 10 acres. Growth and change in Sisters are nothing new to Debbie Newport. She’s seen a lot of both in a lifetime spent here. Her family — the Dyers — have deep roots in Sisters and Camp Sherman. For a town that is only two square miles in area, without a single signal, traffic seems to be one of the biggest topics of concern, especially during the summer tourist season. Despite the weather challenges of April, the Sisters High track and field athletes are continuing to show improvement as the season moves into championship month. A handful of Outlaws qualified for the Meet of Champions, hosted by Cascade and Sweet Home on Saturday, April 23, and a number came away with lifetime bests under the first good weather of the season.
