A U.S. District Court judge has cleared the way for launching the McCache Vegetation Management Project on the Sisters Ranger District. The McCache Project includes about 4,500 acres of treatments designed to reduce the risk of large-scale losses due to insect, disease and wildland fire events, according to the Forest Service. The group facilitator fished hard for a consensus, Monday, May 17, at the Sisters Couplet Advisory Committee meeting. Although he managed to gather some preferences, the atmosphere of the meeting was that of unanswered questions, distrust and numerous complications. Sisters' American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Posts will hold their 12th annual Memorial Day Service at Camp Polk Cemetery on Monday, May 31, at 11:15 a.m. Transportation will be provided by SOAR, with buses leaving Sisters Elementary School from 10:15 to 11 a.m. There is no parking at the cemetery. Shadow RV Park) into its new home on Maple Lane. Constructed in the 1970s, the house was an office for Relco for a number of years.
