  • Students build ‘home-in-a-box’

    Sisters students working with local Habitat for Humanity volunteers have put the finishing touches on the framing for a “House-in-a-Box.” The house, sponsored through Habitat for Humanity International, will be shipped to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, across the bay from Biloxi, in an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina.   • Rock rabbits

    For those of us who enjoy hiking in the high country above 5,000 feet, it’s hard to beat the delight of coming face-to-face with the tiny hay farmer of high country, the American Pika. Although they are little guys — only about eight inches long — and look a little like a big mouse, pikas are not rodents.   • Riders, ropers and fans enjoy Sisters Rodeo

    The Sisters Rodeo lived up in spades to it’s “Biggest Little Show in the World” billing with record-setting crowds and some near-record performances by over 400 contestants. B. J. Campbell of Benton City, Washington, won best all-around cowboy honors and the U. S. Bank saddle, winning nearly $2,950 in team roping and steer wrestling competition. Local favorite Bobby Mote of Culver, the 2002 world champion bareback rider, had an outstanding 86-point ride that gave him a $4,31... Full story
