  • Country fair will host mustang horse show

    The annual Country Fair & Art Show hosted by Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, is a much-anticipated event. Long known for it's old-time country fair atmosphere with fun for all the family, this year they are adding something new. Gayla Nelson, a church member, and her friends are bringing a mustang horse show to the Fair. Nelson, who adopted her first mustang 12 years ago, will be bringing Spirit Dream, and prize-winning Pippin, as well as two burros, Brighty and Dusty, both originally from Nevada.   • Archery pro shop coming

    Top Pin Archery will open in Outlaw Station in Sisters next month. Taylor Pickhardt Development, who developed Outlaw Station around Ray's Food Place, announced last week that the pro shop will have a "soft opening" on August 1. Top Pin Archery, owned by Mike Huitt, will be an archery pro shop featuring an exclusive product line and a five-lane indoor practice area. An indoor shooting league will begin this fall.     Music-lovers in Sisters will be treated to the music of composers George and Ira Gershwin, Louis Armstrong, John Phillip Sousa, W.C. Handy and his St. Louis Blues, "The Wizard of Oz" - all part of the program of the Cascade Horizon Band (CHB), performing at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Sisters' Village Green Park. Audience members are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy this concert in the park.   • Sisters man arrested for robbery, assault - Tuesday, July 21, 8 p.m.

    Austen Stark of Sisters is in custody in connection with vehicle break-ins and an assault on one victim. According to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office reports, in the early hours last Saturday, a 19-year-old woman noticed that her dome light was illuminated in her parked vehicle near Angeline's Bakery. She was returning to her car after attending a concert at the bakery. The woman spotted a man in her vehicle in the process of stealing items from inside her vehicle.
