Sisters' summer sunshine added extra gleam to premium paint jobs and custom chrome of 189 classic cars gathered last weekend for the annual Customs Northwest High Desert Custom Classic. Mountain Shadows RV Park will be allowed to site semi-permanent "park model" trailers on as many as 13 percent of the park's 106 sites, as soon as the Sisters City Council gives final approval later this month. The city council voted 3-1 on Thursday, July 27, to change Sisters' RV code to allow the trailers, which resemble small mobile homes. The Sisters Bombers Senior Little League baseball team won the state championship on Wednesday, July 26, defeating the Battle Creek all-star team 3-1 in a showdown at Sprague High School in Salem. Pitcher Jon Paxton led the Bombers, allowing only one unearned run on seven hits. Pat Burke scored all the runs for the Bombers, including a solo home run. The Sisters School District and Barclay Meadows Business Park have cleared a major hurdle toward developing property for light industry on a pair of 30-acre parcels at the north edge of Sisters. The Deschutes County Commissioners unanimously agreed Wednesday, July 26, to approve two plan amendments and zone changes for the two parcels.
