A man and his wife were walking their dog in a rural area east of Sisters when a German shepherd charged and attacked their dog. The man shot the dog. According to police, he "reacted in a moment of fear." The man reportedly felt very bad that he had to kill the dog. A 26-year-old man was arrested for assault as the result of a fight at a Sisters area residence. He was also arrested for drunk driving in the alcohol-fueled incident. The Outlaws cross country team made its 11th consecutive trip to the Portland to Coast Relay and pulled through with a solid performance, finishing eighth among 22 co-ed teams. They placed 16th overall among 39 teams. The Portland to Coast High School Challenge is held in conjunction with the Hood to Coast Relay and is limited to a total of 50 12-person high school teams. I don't hear from my pal, Brent McGregor as much as I'd like to, but when I do, he knocks my socks off. The photo to the right is an example, and the note with it also hit my funny bone: "My little buddy was in the mood for more pictures today. I'm teaching him to stand up rather than (hanging) upside down, and I think he likes it: notice the smile on his face!"
