  • Cyclists enjoy Oregon Bicycle Ride

    Several Sisters cyclists found coveted slots on the annual Oregon Bicycle Ride August 10-16. "It's basically like Cycle Oregon, only smaller," said Marlene Schneider, who participated in the ride for the first time this year. The itinerary took riders from Cottage Grove to Reedsport and on to Bandon, where the riders enjoyed a layover day. Then it was on to Powers and from there to Riddle and into the Umpqua River watershed for a ride into the Millpond BLM Campground.... Full story

  • Camp Sherman salutes end of summer

    It was the big end-of-summer event at the Camp Sherman Store last Saturday: the ever popular Labor Day Barbecue. Burgers and brats with onions were on the grill. Potato salad and Cajun baked beans were in the pot. Wine and beer flowed along with sodas and coffees and The Anvil Blasters kept everyone's feet a-stompin' and hearts a-pumpin'.
