A proposed new national bank with a Bend headquarters may open a branch in Sisters as early as 2010. Crown Point National Bank recently announced the filing of their application to establish a new commercial bank to service the Central Oregon and Portland metropolitan area businesses and their owners. Sisters was spiced up with musical variety last weekend while the Sisters Folk Festival was in full swing. Six stages around town put music in front of appreciative audiences and the balmy, calm weather added to the laid-back ambiance. Choosing where to go and when was quite a challenge. The quality of artists and available space had main-stage acts performing simultaneously around town on several occasions. The Outlaws football team notched another win with a 40-14 victory over Burns on Friday, September 5. The Outlaws are now 2-0 Sisters took the opening drive and in eight plays pushed to the one-yard line. Chase Klient called a quarterback sneak and scored on a one-yard run with eight minutes left in the first quarter. Marteen Jiminez' kick for the PAT was good and Sisters took a 7-0 lead. Sisters-area businesses and residents whose power will be cut by Central Electric Cooperative next week may want to do some advance planning. Last week, CEC mailed letters to 3,094 Sisters area residents, notifying them of their plans for a six-hour power outage planned for 10 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, through 4 a.m., Wednesday, September 17.
