  • Gallery hosts raffle to benefit raptors

    Soda Creek Gallery of Sisters is hosting a raffle to benefit Wild Wings Raptor Rehabilitation, also of Sisters.  Wildlife artist Tom Murphy is donating an owl sculpture, with all proceeds going to raptor rehabilitation. Raptors include eagles, hawks, owls, falcons and osprey. The sculpture is a perched saw-whet owl carved from maple on a maple burl base and it can be seen at Soda Creek Gallery.  The winner will be drawn on October 1. All donations are tax... Full story

    It seems like only yesterday that my son, Ross, and his big brother, Dean, sat in the back of our Piper Cub playing "roller coaster" over the rich farmland of the Willamette Valley near Beaverton.   • CEC protests court sanctions

    Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) wants Judge Stephen Tiktin to reconsider the harsh ruling he handed down against the electric utility earlier this month. Tiktin found that Central Electric Cooperative willfully and intentionally withheld documents in a dispute with the Cyrus family of Sisters over the placement of 75- to 85-foot steel power poles across Cyrus property east of Sisters.
