Jean died peacefully after a long battle with lung cancer at a special care unit in the new senior living community in the Charbonneau area of Wilsonville. Billybob Bruhns passed away at his Crooked River Ranch home on September 27, from multiple forms of cancer. He was 59 years old. Bruhns was born and raised in San Francisco. Upon completion of high school, he joined the U.S. Army. He served as a firefighter in Vietnam where he suffered two injuries in two separate incidences and toxic exposure. Whychus Creek translates as "The Place We Cross the Water" in the Native American Sahaptin language. On Saturday, September 26, nearly 100 volunteers from across Central Oregon came to that place to help restore Whychus Creek to its original beauty and splendor. People planted, watered, pulled weeds, removed graffiti and picked up debris. Rodeos have been a part of Jenna Jacobsen's life as long as she can remember. A hearing is set for Tuesday, October 6, on a proposed AT&T cell phone tower east of Sisters. The tower is to be located near Bradley Road, off Hwy. 126, on the property of Chester Bradley.
