  • Sisters Rodeo names new queen

    Alyson Fazzolari was chosen as Sisters Rodeo Queen in late September after an outstanding display of horsemanship on Zeus, her 13-year-old dark bay horse. Aly Fazz, as she is familiarly known, grew up in Oregon City on acreage where animals have been part of her family her entire life. She began caring for dogs, cats, goats and horses at a young age. She entered the equestrian show ring at the age of 5. "I was immediately hooked," she said. The results have been impressive.... Full story

  • Inspiration turns scrap into art

    Back in March, Linda Peck was out in her yard - where she spends every hour she can - picking her way among some bits of metal and farm machinery when it hit her: "Something said, 'Linda, why don't you make a lamp.'" So she took that metal and some glasswork she created working with noted local glass artist Susie Zietner and did just that. "I made three of them right off the bat," she said. "Then I went crazy."
