    The 45 members of the Sisters Sno-Go-Fers gathered November 7 to celebrate the kickoff of the snowmobiling season in Sisters Country. This year, the group raffled a quilt made by Lynne Steele as a fundraiser for Sisters Family Access Network. Last week, Virgil LeBlanc presented a check to an appreciative Dawn Cooper and Theresa Slavkovsky, of FAN. "This is the first year that we've done this," said Inez LeBlanc.   • Charter school to host open house

    The Sisters Charter Academy School, also known as Sisters Charter Academy of Fine Arts, will host an open house for prospective students and their parents on December 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, 450 E. Cascade Ave. Classes will be set up during the open house so that prospective students can experience the learning environment while parents explore the school.     William H. Herget was born in Oakland, California, September 16, 1928 and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area until he was about nine, when his family moved to Alturas, California. He had many happy memories of growing up in Alturas and learned to hunt, fish and appreciate nature there.     As of 4 p.m., Tuesday, Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) had restored power to 60 percent of the 3,000 accounts in the north Bend, Tumalo, Tollgate, Black Butte Ranch and Camp Sherman areas affected by a series of predawn equipment failures caused by subzero temperatures.
