Donald Victor Printz March 18, 1940 - November 24, 2017

Donald Victor Printz, 77, of Sisters, Oregon, died November 24, surrounded by his family. He was born March 18, 1940, the youngest of four children in Hamilton, Montana to Carl and Irene Printz. At a young age, the family moved to St. Helens, Oregon. Throughout his schooling Don excelled in sports and was named "Best All Around Athlete" his senior year. Don was also part of two high school basketball championships.

After graduating he attended Pacific University and again excelled in sports. In 1960 he married his childhood love, Barbara, and they had four children: Lori, Cindi, Todd and Donna. Don became a Longshoreman and union man in 1964. In 1987, Don and Barbara lost their son Todd, and in 1990, Don lost Barbara to cancer. In 1995, Don met his second love, Nancy. Don and Nancy moved to Sisters in 2000 when Don retired after 35+ years as a Longshoreman. They spent many happy years traveling in their RV, seeing sites and family. Don enjoyed fishing and just taking boat rides with the family. Don and Nancy were married in 2008.

Don is survived by his wife, Nancy, Sisters; three daughters: Lori (Mark) Stevenson, Murrieta, CA; Cindi Millard, Fair Oaks, CA; Donna (Adrian) Thayer, Pacific Northwest travelers grandchildren Donielle Millard, Fair Oaks, CA; Shawn Stevenson, Portland, OR; Robby Millard, Fair Oaks, CA; Cassandra Stevenson, San Luis Obispo, CA; brother Floyd (Darlene) Printz, Vancouver, WA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Todd, first wife Barbara, brother Gail, sister Phyllis, and both his parents. A burial at Skyline Cemetery in Portland will be held March 17, 2018, and a celebration of life will be held March 18, 2018 at the Longshoremen's Hall in Portland. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
