Belfry brings bluegrass and blues to Sisters
Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen returns to Sisters at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, for a show at The Belfry, 302 E. Main Ave. The show, sponsored by Sisters Folk Festival and Preston Thompson Guitars, also features the powerhouse duo of Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley.

Sisters students raise voices in song
Sara Miller, music teacher at the Sisters Elementary School, and 30 sets of parents of forth- and fifth-graders are going the extra mile. Every Wednesday morning for 2-1/2 months, teacher, students and parents roll out of their nice, snug beds before dawn, gobble down breakfast and then the students meet at 7:30 a.m. in the music room of the Sisters Middle School.

People's Choice winners named at library exhibit
During the past three weeks at Sisters Library, the people voted - and how they voted! This year, a record number of People's Choice ballots were turned in, each ballot listing the three favorite pieces of art in the Sisters Library Annual Art Exhibit. Friday night, the ballots were counted and the winners were announced. Two of the three winners repeated from last year, and the third was also a previous winner.

Starry Nights welcomes back Lovett and Hiatt
Two of the music industry's premiere singer-songwriters make their return to Sisters for "Starry Nights Presents An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt," set for Tuesday, January 29, at the Sisters High School Auditorium. Twenty years ago she had a hemorrhage on the left side of her brain that forced her to become a right-brained person. Coming back was slow going and she soon realized she wasn't the same person she was before.
