News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
A Sisters man who plead guilty to a third-degree rape charge last October was arrested November 17 for a probation violation.
Tommy Vaughn Honea, 25, was on conditional release pending sentencing on the rape charge when he was arrested. Honea allegedly violated the terms of his release by being in contact with a 17-year-old girl.
According to police reports, Sisters police accompanied a sentencing investigator from the county corrections department to Honea's apartment for a "house visit" on November 17. Officers allegedly found a 17-year-old girl on the premises and several open and partially consumed bottles of Hornsby's Pub Draft Cider, which has an alcohol content of 6.4 percent.
The terms of Honea's release prohibited contact with minor females to whom he is not related. According to police, a Sisters officer arrested Honea and transported him to county jail.
According to police, further investigation of the incident warranted charges against Honea of third-degree sex abuse, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Those charges were to be referred to the district attorney's office for possible action.
Honea plead guilty to Rape III in connection with an incident that occurred on May 7 when Honea had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl after she had allegedly passed out at his apartment in Sisters.
Rape III is defined in the Oregon Criminal Code as sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years of age and carries a presumptive sentence of three years' probation.
He was to be sentenced on the rape charge November 27.
