Thief hits storage facility

A thief struck Sno-Cap Storage in Sisters last week, removing locks from 10 storage units and stealing firearms and a stereo from one of the units.

Sometime between 5:45 p.m. on Monday, November 20, and 8 a.m. the next morning, someone removed locks from 10 storage units at the storage facility located in Sisters Industrial Park.

According to police reports , the locks appeared to have been either cut with bolt cutters or removed with a key. Police reported that the locks had been taken from the premises and at that time none of the storage units appeared to have been entered.

On November 24 one of the storage unit renters reported to police that several items had been stolen from his storage unit, which was one of those whose lock was removed on November 20.

According to police reports, a .22 Marlin-Glenfield semi-automatic rifle, an Ithaca single-shot .22 rifle and an RCA stereo CD/cassette player with speakers were taken. Police reports indicated that only one of the 10 units had property taken from it.

According to police, Sno-Cap owner Olan Ford told police that he expected to have a new security system operating on the site soon.
