News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sisters Elementary School teachers lent their support to the school district's proposed bond issue at the March 11 school board meeting.
"We just want you to know that we support it and we want you to go full steam ahead on it," Boudreau told the board.
Earl Armbruster, Business Manager for the district, told the board that an advocacy group has formed in the community to drum up community support for the bond.
"They hope to mount an aggressive campaign to get the bond passed," Armbruster said.
Boudreau told The Nugget that teachers -just didn't realize that the support wasn't there in the communityî when the same bond failed last November.
She said that she personally was surprised by the previous bond's defeat.
"I feel now we need to be a little more proactive," she said.
