Sisters man arrested for burglary

Sheriff's deputies arrested 21-year-old Jason Alan Melton, of Sisters, on burglary charges Sunday, April 20, a

fter he allegedly attempted to get into two homes on Indian Ford Road.

According to sheriff's reports, Melton and another man went to one home and asked to use the phone.

When the resident refused, they allegedly went to the back door, where the resident confronted them as they were opening the locked door.

The men allegedly left when the resident said she was calling police. Melton was taken into custody at Camp Polk and Lundy Road.

Police reported that the two men had tried in the same manner to get into another home in the area.

Melton was the only person arrested in the incident. He was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree

attempted burglary and criminal trespass
