News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Four Sisters residents were arrested Saturday, May 24, after a dispute over a parking space at Lake Billy Chinook escalated into a brawl.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies -- assisted by Oregon State Police, the Culver police chief, and state park employees -- arrested Brian Patrick Hoskins, 35, Jodie Hoskins, 34, Karen Marie Guilbeaux, 26, and Donald Guilbeaux, 35. All four reside at 125 North Tamarack in Sisters.
"It started over a parking space and some words were passed between the victims and suspects," Deputy Lance McKenzie told The Nugget.
Karen Guilbeaux allegedly exposed her breasts during the altercation and dropped her pants while making lewd suggestions.
McKenzie reported that the victims, a man, his wife and her mother, left the space to the suspects.
The suspects allegedly returned to the disputed parking spot, enraged after someone threw food on their car. McKenzie said the victims denied throwing the food.
A verbal and physical altercation ensued in which one of the suspects allegedly attempted to pop the victim's tire with a screwdriver, and Brian Hoskins allegedly broke a window of the victim's car.
"There was a big brawl with about 12 people, total," McKenzie reported. "Eventually it was broken up when one of the (victims) was choked to the ground."
According to McKenzie, Donald Guilbeaux choked the male victim nearly to unconsciousness and threatened to kill him. Guilbeaux was arrested on a charge of first degree assault (a Class A felony), menacing and disorderly conduct.
The other three were arrested for third degree assault and disorderly conduct. Brian Hoskins also faces charges of criminal mischief and menacing.
The victims were treated for their injuries at the scene.
All four subjects are scheduled to be arraigned in Jefferson County on June 12.
