Sisters police reserves graduate from academy

Two Sisters police reserves graduated from the 1997 Oregon Law Enforcement Reserve Academy on Saturday, November 15, in a ceremony at Redmond High School.

Reserves Tim Hernandez and Richard John completed 358 hours of training, which began last March. Sisters area Darcy Davis graduated as a reserve for the Deschutes county Sheriff's Department and was honored with the academy's Academic Achievement Award for her 99.42 percent rating.

Hernandez was given the prestigious Peer Award. The citation acknowledged that Hernandez "earned the professional respect of staff, students and instructors through group leadership, motivation and encouragement, distinguished academic achievement, professionalism and outstanding demeanor."

Hernandez was also given the leadership award for the Sisters reserves. John received the performance award for the Sisters department.
