Burglars strike home

Deputies from the Sisters sheriff's station discovered a break in at a vacation home in town on Tuesday, January 21.

According to sheriff's department reports, Sisters Public Works Director Gary Frazee reported a possible burglary at 153 West Adams Street.

Deputies investigated and found the door to the mobile home closed but unlocked. They reported that one or more burglars broke out a bedroom window to get into the mobile home, where they allegedly stole a cassette player, an eight-track stereo, assorted bottles of liquor, some clothing and about $62 in change and currency.

The owner of the home lives in Stayton, Oregon. He told police he uses the home for occasional vacation visits and often lets friends and family members stay there.

The last time the home was used was in December.
