Chamber names officers

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its 1998 slate of officers and the board of directors for the new year.

The new president of the board is Pat Molesworth of Village Interiors in Sisters. Molesworth has served the chamber since 1996 and, as president, will chair the executive and nominating/personnel committees.

The 1998 chamber vice-president and president-elect is board newcomer Denise Bailey, Sisters Branch Manager of AmeriTitle. Bailey has served on a number of boards in the past and begins her three-year officer commitment on the executive, finance, and nominating/personnel committees.

Gordon Bowman of the Candle House was re-elected by the board to serve as the chamber treasurer. Bowman has been on the board since 1997 and will chair the finance committee.

Chamber administrative assistant Mardyth Peterson was again elected to serve as recording secretary for the group. Peterson started with the chamber as a volunteer in 1996 and was selected for the administrative post in May of 1997.

The following directors will round out the regular board:

Ed Fitzjarrel, Metabolic Maintenance; Jim Cornelius, Nugget Newspaper/Paulina Springs Book Company; Charles Fadeley, P.C., attorney-at-law; Bob Grooney, The Gallimaufry; Jeff Jones - individual member/Coldwell Banker; Sally Leavitt - Leavitt's Western Wear; Karen Lewis - Central Electric Cooperative; Bill McConnville - Christmas Mountain Magic; Norm Scott - Black Butte Resort Motel & RV Park.

Joining the chamber as an ex officio board members is Loy Helmly, the new general manager at Black Butte Ranch.

The 1998 advisory board will expand chamber networking capabilities throughout Central Oregon.

The board will include up to eight members selected by the chamber manager and will meet up to four times during the year.
