Sisters man sentenced for assault

Russell Eugene Dunn of Sisters will spend most of 1999 in jail after he was convicted of one count each of first-and second-degree assault.

According to Deschutes County court reports, Dunn was sentenced to two consecutive 120-day terms in county jail (less time served) in connection with a Christmas Day incident in which he assaulted a woman friend and then resisted the sheriff's deputy who came to arrest him.

Dunn's sentence also carries 60 months of probation, requirements to abstain from alcohol and to undergo substance abuse treatment.
