East is east and west is west

An alert reader noted that the caption and lead for the story "Scenic gateway planned" (The Nugget, May 20, p. 1) inadvertently swapped the points of the compass.

While the junction of highways 20 and 242 will mark the east portal of the McKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass Scenic By-way, the infamous "Y" still lies at the west end of Sisters.

The Nugget regrets any confusion or disorientation caused by the error.
