News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Thieves entered four vehicles at Sisters Car Care sometime overnight on May 20-21, stealing stereo equipment, tools and fishing reels.
According to sheriff's reports, the cars were parked in a fenced area which had inadvertently been unlocked. The vehicles, too, were unlocked.
During the same time frame, according to police, someone threw a softball-sized rock through the windshield of a vehicle parked near the auto shop at Sisters High School.
Sergeant Rich Shawver of the Sisters sheriff's station, said that Sisters area residents need to be more careful in securing their businesses, homes and vehicles.
"They need to make sure all appropriate locks are locked and any alarm system they've paid good money for needs to be armed," Shawver said."
