News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Keith Ironside of Tualatin must have been looking over a four-leaf clover on Saturday, July 25. He won the BMW Z3 roadster in the Sisters Schools Foundation raffle drawing held at the High Desert Custom Classic Car Show at Sisters Middle School.
Darren Layne, a foundation representative, had not been able to reach Ironside to tell him the good news as of press time.
The foundation sold approximately 1,200 tickets for the drawing - with a lot of orders coming in at the last minute.
"We sold about 100 tickets on Saturday at the car show," Layne said. "It was actually a great sales event."
The fund-raiser netted approximately $20,000 for the foundation.
According to Layne, those funds will go into the general fund of the foundation, raising the amount to be distributed during the 1998-99 school year to approximately $60,000.
