News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
To the Editor:
Kudos to the compilers, editors, photographers and writers of the Sisters 1998 Visitor's Guide. And God bless the advertisers, too. Without them there wouldn't be such a first class publication.
The centerfold map and sections on accommodations, recreational choices and the dining guide are all helpful to the visitors who come to linger or stop while passing through.
The photo art of Fran Schupp, Sue Anderson, Eric Dolson, Sharon Hrdlicka, Jim Anderson, Steve Shunk, Beryl Morrison and others make the booklet a joy to leaf through, and make those who don't live in Central Oregon wish they did.
But the outstanding strength that makes this Chamber of Commerce booklet a winner is the excellent writing on a variety of topics. None of the names are unfamiliar because John Hayes, Conrad Weiler, Jim Anderson, John Judy, Steve Shunk, Maret Pajutee, Jim Cornelius, Bonnie Malone, Sue Anderson, Todd Williver, Ray Hatton, Charles Kanzig, and Fran Schupp are all experts in one or more areas, and have shared their knowledge with us through other media.
For the rest of Oregon...eat your heart out. Sisters has the scenery, the attractions, the events, the wildlife and superb writers who put it all together in a first class booklet. Congratulations to everyone involved this project.
Sincerely,
Shirley Petrie
Editor's note: The writers Mrs. Petrie mentioned above looked so good in print through the efforts of the Visitor's Guide graphic artists Renee Perin and Leith Easterling.
To the Editor:
Our family would like to thank everyone who offered their support, prayers, flowers and words of sympathy after we lost my dad. It was a comfort to know we were surrounded by such compassion and love.
Dad was a wonderful father, grandfather, advisor, friend and support to us and we will miss him very deeply. We know he'll be missed by others, too.
We thank God that he's passed on to an even better place.
Again, our thanks with grateful hearts,
Greg & Vicki Everson, Matt, Kirstyn, Scott & Gloria Everson
